Hi, Everyone! I’m Samantha, the Hotel General Manager here at Metropolis Resort. Since I get to see so many of you in the lobby, at check-in, or even out and about in Eau Claire, I thought it would be fun to share a little bit of what life looks like for me outside the resort.

We’ve had a busy summer with lots of baseball tournaments for my son Jackson. On top of that, my husband Adam and I made another trip over to Gotland, Sweden this year. Adam plays on a six-person team in the National Kubb Tournament there. (If you didn’t know, Kubb actually started in Sweden before making its way over to Eau Claire!). Traveling is one of our favorite things to do, and more often than not, our trips end up revolving around either the kids’ sports or kubb—it keeps life fun and interesting!

When we’re home, we enjoy our little farm in Chetek. My parents live close by, and my mom and I love gardening together. We also have quite a collection of animals—six goats, some chickens, a tortoise, and three dogs, so there’s always something going on around the farm.

Looking ahead, this fall Jackson will be gearing up for hockey season again. Hockey is one of my favorite sports to watch him play, and I’m excited to see him back on the ice.

My daughter, Autumn, also has a birthday this month, so we’ll be celebrating by hosting her first sleepover with some classmates. She has requested a “spa” themed sleepover, which means I get to play the role of the spa worker—think mini facials, nail painting, and lots of giggles!

Between hockey games, birthday fun, and family adventures, it’s shaping up to be a busy but joyful season filled with memories we’ll cherish. I know so many of you are juggling sports, school, and family celebrations too, and I hope you’re finding those moments of joy right alongside the busyness. Here’s to making the most of fall and creating memories we’ll all cherish.
