Where the Fun Never Stops
Walk right out the doors of Metropolis Resort and discover this 8.2-mile loop trail near Eau Claire, Wisconsin. We are so fortunate to have this where we work. It is often referred to as our little secret. We thought we should share it with our guests!
Generally considered a moderately challenging route, Lowes Creek Eau Claire County Park offers twisty singletrack, quick climb, and fast sections. The park is also home to the WORS Firecracker Race.
At Lowes Creek, you will find a variety of trails for every level of rider, from beginner to advanced. The trails include approximately five miles of the double-track cross country ski system and over 13 miles of technical/challenging narrow single track. The single track trails take the rider to all four corners of the park by winding through pine tree forests, crossing creek beds, and cruising along ridge lines.
All of the trails at Lowes Creek are multi-use, so they appeal to runners, walkers, and mountain bikers. Single track trails are open in the winter for mountain bikes and snowshoers, however, bikers and snowshoers must stay off groomed ski trails (though they are allowed to cross at junctions with single track trails). Helmets are recommended and a parking pass is required, but you can simply walk over to the park from Metropolis Resort. No need to get in your car.
This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best time to visit this trail is anytime between March and October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
Get going and enjoy some nature for fun with your kids!
