Around Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley

The City of Eau Claire sits at the confluence of the Eau Claire and Chippewa rivers. Named by early French Voyageurs, these clear waters add beauty and recreation to every season.

The area’s history is woven into the fabric of the city. Visit the Chippewa Valley Museum and Paul Bunyan Logging Camp for a glimpse of life long ago. Stroll through the historic Water Street or Downtown districts for eclectic shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Your kids will enjoy a hands on  Children's Museum of Eau Claire just 15 minutes away.

On any given day, Phoenix Park may feature outdoor music, a large farmers market, arts festivals, or soaring eagles that nest along the river.

Eau Claire has a rich history in baseball. Hank Aaron began his professional career at Carson Park in 1952 and the renovated stadium features a tribute and memorabilia.

Eau Claire features venues for every sport; lighted tennis courts, a full service YMCA and terrific bike trails that span many miles and varioud cities.

Just 15 miles north is beautiful Lake Wissota, a 6300 acre, 72 foot deep manmade lake that has been home to a number of regional and national fishing tournaments.

Hickory Hills Golf Course: One of the best places to enjoy the Chippewa Valley's stunning scenery is at Hickory Hills Golf Course, less than 1 mile from Metropolis Resort.  Set on one of the most scenic 100 acres in the area, Hickory Hills is an 18-hole, executive length golf course that has recently been voted the "Best Golf Course in the Chippewa Valley" for the 7th straight year.
